Here is what nobody told you, and what we teach in the first ten minutes of our meditation classes in Jaipur: that is meditation working correctly.
Noticing that your mind wandered is the moment of meditation. Not the quiet. The noticing. If your mind wandered forty times in ten minutes and you brought it back forty times, you did forty repetitions. That is not a failed session — that is the whole exercise.
Our meditation classes in Jaipur teach that first, because it is the misunderstanding that makes most people quit.
How do I start meditating when my mind does not stop?
You start by changing the goal. The goal is not an empty mind — that instruction is wrong and it is why most beginners quit. The goal is to notice when attention has drifted and return it, over and over.
Begin with ten minutes of breath awareness, seated on a chair if the floor is uncomfortable, at the same time each day. Expect the mind to wander constantly for the first two weeks. Consistency matters far more than duration: ten minutes daily beats forty minutes twice a week. In our meditation classes in Jaipur you are guided aloud through this, in Hindi or English, so you are not sitting alone wondering whether you are doing it right.
Before the practicalities — is this you?
- "Dhyan kaise lagaye — koshish karta hoon par mann nahi lagta"
- You have downloaded two meditation apps and used neither past week one
- You lie down at night and your brain immediately starts replaying the day
If any of that is yours, you are reading the right page. The fuller list is in Does this sound like you? below. What follows first is the plain practical answer: what the classes are, and what they cost.
What our meditation classes in Jaipur include
1 · Guided group sittings at the centre A teacher talks you through it the whole way. For beginners this changes everything — you are not navigating silence on your own, deciding every thirty seconds whether you are failing. Chair or floor, whichever your body prefers.
2 · One-to-one meditation coaching If your mind is particularly restless, if you have tried and stopped several times, or if you are working through anxiety, grief or sleep problems. The practice is chosen for your specific mind rather than a general one.
3 · Progressive technique training Not one technique repeated forever. We start with breath awareness (anapana) because it is the most reliable anchor, then introduce body scan, noting practice, mantra meditation, trataka, loving-kindness and yoga nidra as your attention gets stronger. Different minds settle with different anchors — a racing mind often does better with body scan than with breath.
4 · Meditation for a specific problem Sleep, anxiety, panic, anger, focus, exam stress, emotional reactivity. The practice differs. Yoga nidra for insomnia is not the same as extended-exhalation work for panic, and prescribing the wrong one wastes months.
5 · Dhyan and breathwork combined Pranayama first, then dhyan. A body that has not been down-regulated cannot sit still — this is why ten minutes of breathing before meditation makes meditation three times easier.
6 · Online guided sessions in Hindi and English Live, guided, with the teacher's voice in real time. Available wherever you are.

Why people choose Manorath for meditation classes in Jaipur
We fix the instruction that made you quit. "Empty your mind" is bad teaching. It sets an impossible target, and when you inevitably fail it you conclude the problem is you. We teach returning, not emptying.
Guided, not left alone. Apps give you a timer and a bell. A teacher notices that you are fighting your breath, sitting with a braced jaw, or trying too hard — and tells you. Most beginner difficulty is physical effort, not mental weakness.
We explain the mechanism. You will know what the default mode network is, what the evidence does and does not show about amygdala reactivity, and what interoception and heart rate variability have to do with any of it. People who understand why they are doing something keep doing it.
It is not religious. Dhyan is a technique for training attention. It requires no belief, no deity, no chanting unless you want mantra practice, and no conversion. People of every faith and none practise here.
Ten minutes is a complete practice. We will not tell you to sit for an hour. We would rather you do ten minutes for sixty days than forty minutes for four.
It connects to the rest of the work. If your restlessness is actually untreated anxiety, if your sleep problem needs more than meditation, we will say so — and the counselling, yoga and nutrition sides are all in the same building.
Does this sound like you?
- "Dhyan kaise lagaye — koshish karta hoon par mann nahi lagta"
- "Mann shant karne ka tarika" — you want quiet, not spirituality
- You have downloaded two meditation apps and used neither past week one
- You lie down at night and your brain immediately starts replaying the day
- You read the same page three times because your attention keeps leaving
- You are irritable with people who do not deserve it
- You feel permanently braced, as if something is about to go wrong
- You cannot sit still for ten minutes without reaching for your phone
- Your doctor or therapist told you to "try meditation" with no further guidance
- You are a student and cannot hold focus long enough to study properly
- You think you are too restless, too logical or too impatient for this
- You tried a silent retreat or a long session and found it unbearable
- You want to start but do not know which technique or how long
Especially the ones about failing before. Those are the people our classes are built for.
What meditation actually does to your brain — the mechanism
Your default mode network is the voice that will not stop
When you are not focused on a task, a network of brain regions called the default mode network becomes active. This is self-referential thinking: rehearsing conversations, planning, worrying, replaying. In people with anxiety and depression, this network is overactive and sticky. Meditation reduces its dominance — which is the physical correlate of what you experience as "my mind finally quietened".
The noticing is the repetition
Attention wanders. You notice. You return. That cycle recruits the prefrontal cortex — the part responsible for deliberate attention and regulation. Each return is one rep. Forty wanderings in a session means forty reps. This is exactly why "I was bad at it, my mind kept wandering" describes a productive session, not a failed one.
Your amygdala stops over-reacting
The amygdala is your threat detector. In chronic stress it becomes hypersensitive and fires at things that are not threats — an email, a tone of voice, a thought. Consistent meditation reduces amygdala reactivity and strengthens the prefrontal cortex's control over it. This is why people report, around week three, not that they feel blissful, but that they reacted less to something that would normally have set them off.
Interoception — learning to read your own body
Interoception is your sense of your internal state: heartbeat, breath, tension, gut. Meditation sharpens it. This matters practically: you start catching stress at the shoulder-tightening stage instead of at the shouting stage. For panic, it also builds tolerance for sensations you have learnt to fear.
Vagal tone and heart rate variability
Slow breathing with extended exhalation activates the vagus nerve, improving vagal tone and heart rate variability — a measurable marker of how well your nervous system recovers from stress. This is the fastest-acting part of meditation and the reason breath practice comes before dhyan.
Neuroplasticity: why consistency beats duration
These changes accumulate, because the brain reorganises according to what it repeats. One caveat worth stating: the functional evidence here — attention, reactivity, stress markers — is solid, while studies claiming measurable structural brain changes from meditation have had mixed replication, so we do not lean on those. Ten minutes daily gives your brain a daily repetition; a long session once a week does not. This is not motivational advice — it is the reason the schedule matters more than the length.
The myths that stop people meditating
| What you were told | What is actually true |
|---|---|
| "Empty your mind" | Impossible, and the wrong goal. Notice and return — that is the practice. |
| "You need to sit for an hour" | Ten minutes daily is a complete practice and works better than long, irregular sits. |
| "You must sit cross-legged on the floor" | A chair is fine. Discomfort recruits attention you need elsewhere. |
| "If your mind wanders, you failed" | Every wandering you notice is one repetition. More wandering noticed, more reps. |
| "It is religious" | Dhyan trains attention. No belief, deity or ritual required. |
| "Some people just can't meditate" | Restless minds improve the most, because they have the most to gain. |
| "You should feel blissful" | Most sessions feel ordinary. The change shows up in your day, not in the sit. |
| "Thoughts are the enemy" | Thoughts will keep coming. The skill is not being pulled along by them. |

What people in Jaipur say
In their own words — hover or tap a review to pause it.
I had never tried meditation properly before. Initially it was difficult to sit quietly even for a few minutes, but the guided sessions made it much easier. I now use some of the breathing and meditation techniques even on busy workdays.
Can’t explain in words how much selfless efforts they do for people with genuine care. Everyone should visit this place at least once to experience a deep connection with their inner self and the Divine, and to gain a new perspective on life.
Priyank Ji is my mental heath counsellor , he is very humble and listen you very gently. Lots of my emotional trauma and stress released by her with help of yoga and other therapies. I feel safe and non judgemental while talk to him.
I had been struggling with sleep for quite some time. What I liked here was that they first tried to understand my daily routine instead of simply suggesting something. The changes were simple and practical, and my sleep routine has become much better.
The whole team is really supportive, especially Priyank Sir. In the beginning, I was unsure whether these small steps would actually help me, but with time I started noticing a real difference. The overall environment feels very positive and peaceful. Their therapies and guidance have helped me a lot with my pain and well-being.
Mujhe anxiety ke time par bahut restless feel hota tha, especially when I had too many things going on at once. Sessions mein breathing aur other practices ko daily routine ka part banana sikhaya. Ab stressful situations mein pehle se kaafi calmly respond karti hoon.
I joined the yoga classes mainly because of back and joint stiffness, but I ended up enjoying the whole routine. The teacher was patient and explained which movements I should do comfortably. I don't feel like I am forcing my body anymore.
Manorath Wellness Center changed my life! I took online yoga classes from here. The trainer was very kind and helpful. They not only taught yoga but also helped me understand life better. Now I feel stress-free and happy. My mind is calm and clear. I feel more energy every day. If you want peace and clear thinking, this place is perfect.
PCOD ke saath weight aur periods dono ko lekar kaafi frustration thi. Yahan mujhe diet, yoga aur daily routine ko ek saath manage karne ka practical approach mila. Sab kuch ekdum overnight change nahi hua, but I feel I am finally working on the right things.
Best place for peace! I was very stressed in life. Nothing made me happy. Then I came to Manorath Wellness Center. The team helped me so much. They talked to me nicely and gave me good support. Now I feel calm and happy from inside. This place is full of good people. 😊
They saved me! I was feeling very low. I had no energy to do anything. But after getting help …
Meri mother ko knee pain ki wajah se daily activities mein discomfort hota tha. Consultation ke baad unhe exercises aur routine ke baare mein properly guide kiya gaya. The best part was that nobody rushed her or made her feel uncomfortable during the sessions.
I got my 66-year-old father to join the online sessions. He started with simple chair-based practices. After two months, his morning stiffness has reduced and he has become more active at home.
I went mainly for diet and weight management advice. Instead of giving me a very strict diet chart, they asked about what I actually eat and what I can realistically follow. That made a big difference because I have been able to stay consistent.
I was really worried about my overthinking and stress, so I started classes with Manorath Wellness. There, I joined yoga classes along with wellness counseling. Honestly, it helped me a lot, and now I'm able to handle my stress better. ❤️
I was quite hesitant about counselling because I had never spoken openly about some personal issues. The sessions felt private and comfortable, and I never felt pushed to say something before I was ready. That made it much easier for me to continue.
I am feeling very good after joining yoga.
Ayurvedic treatment was a new experience for me, so I had quite a few questions in the beginning. The doctor explained everything patiently and also discussed my routine and food habits. I liked that the approach was personalised rather than just giving general advice.
The naturopathy sessions were quite different from what I expected. I was given guidance around food, daily habits and natural therapies, and the team kept checking how I was feeling. Overall, it was a very calm and positive experience.
Work stress had started affecting my mood, sleep and even my weekends. I joined the wellness program to bring some structure back into my routine. The combination of yoga, breathing and lifestyle guidance has helped me become more mindful about how I spend my day.
The part other centres leave out
What meditation classes in Jaipur can and cannot do
Realistically:
- Falling asleep gets easier within 1–2 weeks, often the fastest change people notice
- Daily stress reactivity drops around week 3 — you react less, before you feel calmer
- Attention span and focus improve measurably over 4–8 weeks
- Anxiety reduces meaningfully over 6–12 weeks of consistent practice
- Anger has a gap in it that was not there before — you catch yourself
- Rumination loosens; thoughts still come but pull you along less
Meditation cannot:
- Replace treatment for clinical depression, severe anxiety, bipolar disorder or psychosis. It can support treatment. It is not a substitute, and anyone telling you otherwise is doing you harm.
- Replace medication. We never ask you to stop or reduce anything prescribed.
- Work in a crisis. If you are in acute distress, meditation is not the intervention — talking to someone is.
- Fix a situation. It changes your relationship to a difficult situation; it does not change the situation.
A note on trauma: for some people with trauma histories, sitting in silence with closed eyes and inward attention can increase distress rather than reduce it. This is well documented and it is not a personal failing. If that is you, tell us — grounding, open-eye and movement-based practices exist, and we will use those instead.
If you are in crisis right now: please call Tele-MANAS at 14416 (free, 24×7, available in Hindi and other Indian languages). Meditation is not the right tool for this moment, and reaching out is.
Meditation for specific problems
Sleep and insomnia — yoga nidra and body scan, practised lying down, in the evening. This is the single most effective meditation application for sleep. See insomnia treatment in Jaipur.
Anxiety — extended exhalation first, then noting practice. Fast relief from the breath, slower change from the noticing. See anxiety treatment in Jaipur.
Panic attacks — breath control plus interoceptive tolerance, so body sensations stop triggering fear. Not done during an attack; built before one. See panic attack treatment in Jaipur.
Anger and reactivity — the gap between trigger and response is trainable, and this is the practice that trains it. See personality disorder and anger counselling in Jaipur.
Focus and study — short, frequent attention training; trataka and breath counting. See exam stress counselling in Jaipur.
Low mood — behavioural activation matters more than meditation here, and we will tell you that rather than handing you a practice that is not the right tool. See depression treatment in Jaipur.
Overthinking and rumination — noting practice, aimed directly at the default mode network.
How our meditation classes in Jaipur work
Step 1 — A short conversation first. What you have tried, where it broke, what your mind actually does when you sit, and what you want from this. If you have tried and quit three times, the details of those three attempts are the most useful information we can get.
Step 2 — Your anchor. Breath for most people. Body scan if breath awareness makes you anxious or breathless — which happens, and is not a problem. Sound or mantra if your mind is very busy. We choose, then test it with you in the room.
Step 3 — Week 1–2: ten minutes, guided, daily. Short, guided, same time each day. Expect constant wandering. We will keep saying so until you believe it.
Step 4 — Week 3–6: technique widens. Body scan, noting, loving-kindness, yoga nidra. Duration grows only if you want it to.
Step 5 — Beyond: independent practice. You should not need us or an app. You get a sequence you can do alone, anywhere, without audio.
Step 6 — Review. What you skipped and why. Skipped days are data about the plan, not about your character.
Your first meditation session in Jaipur — what to expect
Posture: a chair with your feet flat, or cross-legged with cushion support — whichever you can hold without fidgeting. Spine upright but not rigid. Eyes closed, or softly open and lowered if closing them makes you uneasy.
The 45 minutes: a short conversation, ten minutes of pranayama to settle the nervous system, fifteen to twenty minutes of guided dhyan, then time to talk about what happened — including the boredom, the restlessness and the itch to check your phone.
You will probably: fidget, think about your phone, wonder if it is working, feel bored, get an itch, plan your evening. All normal. You may also feel unexpectedly emotional, which is also normal and worth mentioning.
You will not be asked to: chant anything you are not comfortable with, hold an uncomfortable posture, sit in silence for a long stretch unguided, or share anything personal with a group.
Online: live guided session in Hindi or English. A quiet room and headphones.
Who you will work with
Founder — Priyank Dadhich. PGDYT, naturopathy and yoga therapy training, clinical nutritionist. Leads dhyan, pranayama and meditation programmes.
Meditation and breathwork — guided group sittings and progressive technique training.
Counselling support — where restlessness turns out to need therapy alongside practice.
We are a wellness centre: yoga, dhyan, naturopathy and consultation. We are not doctors and we do not prescribe medicine. Where you need medical or psychiatric care, we refer you.
How long do meditation classes in Jaipur take to work? An honest timeline
| Time | What usually changes |
|---|---|
| Session 1 | You learn that wandering is the practice. For most people that alone is a relief. |
| Week 1 | Sleep onset gets easier; the sit still feels difficult |
| Week 2–3 | You catch yourself reacting less; ten minutes stops feeling long |
| Week 4–6 | Focus noticeably better; practice is a habit rather than a decision |
| Week 8–12 | Anxiety and rumination measurably reduced; you can practise unguided |
| Month 6 | It stops being a technique and becomes how you relate to your own mind |
Meditation classes in Jaipur — your questions answered
Where can I learn meditation in Jaipur?
At our centre in Jaipur, with guided group sittings and one-to-one sessions, and online live in Hindi or English if you are outside the city. Registration of ₹500 books your slot. We teach progressively — breath awareness first, then wider techniques — rather than handing you an audio file.
How much do meditation classes in Jaipur cost at your centre?
₹500 registration, then ₹1,000 deposit for a first session at the centre or ₹500 online. Sessions after that are around ₹2,000 each depending on format; group sittings work out lower on a batch. Message us for current rates.
Do you consult online for meditation classes in Jaipur?
Yes — live guided sessions in Hindi or English, with the teacher's voice in real time. A quiet room and headphones are all you need.
My mind never stops. Will meditation work for me?
Yes, and probably better than for someone placid. The practice is the noticing and returning, not the quiet. A busy mind gives you more repetitions per session. The reason it has not worked before is almost always the instruction, not your mind.
Dhyan kaise lagaye — how do I actually do it?
Sit comfortably, chair or floor. Put attention on the breath at the nostrils. When you notice you have drifted — and you will, within seconds — bring it back without commentary. That is the whole technique. Ten minutes. Same time daily. Guided for the first few weeks so you are not guessing.
How long should I meditate each day as a beginner?
Ten minutes, daily. Not twenty, not an hour. Daily beats long, and a target you keep beats a target you abandon.
Is meditation religious?
No. Dhyan is attention training. It needs no belief, no deity and no ritual. If you want mantra practice we teach it; if you do not, breath and body-based practices need nothing from you but attention.
Does meditation help anxiety?
Yes, meaningfully, over six to twelve weeks of consistent practice — and the breath component helps within days. For clinical anxiety it works best alongside counselling rather than instead of it; see anxiety treatment in Jaipur.
Will meditation help me sleep?
It is one of the most reliable things for sleep onset, usually within one to two weeks. Yoga nidra and body scan, done lying down in the evening, are the practices for this — not seated breath work late at night.
Why do meditation apps never work for me?
Because they give you a timer and a voice but no feedback. Nobody notices that you are straining your breath, clenching your jaw, or treating every wandering thought as a failure. Those three things account for most beginner struggle, and all three are visible to a teacher in one session.
How soon will I feel calmer?
Breath practice can shift you within a single session. The durable change — reacting less — usually arrives around week three, and it often shows up as something you notice afterwards rather than something you feel during the sit.
Can I meditate lying down?
For yoga nidra and body scan, yes — lying down is the correct posture. For seated attention practice, lying down usually ends in sleep, which is restful but not the exercise.
I get restless and uncomfortable when I sit still. Is something wrong with me?
No. For some people — particularly with a trauma history or high anxiety — inward attention with closed eyes increases distress. That is documented, not a failing. Open-eye, grounding and movement-based practices work instead, and we will use those. Please do tell us.
Can children or teenagers learn meditation?
Yes, with shorter, more concrete practices, and for under-18s with a parent involved. Focus and exam-stress work is a common reason families come.
Do you teach vipassana or a specific tradition?
We teach breath awareness (anapana) as the foundation, which vipassana practitioners will recognise, plus body scan, noting, mantra, trataka, loving-kindness and yoga nidra. We are not a single-tradition school — we choose what suits your mind.
Can I combine meditation with yoga classes?
That is the natural pairing, and pranayama is the bridge. A down-regulated body sits still far more easily. See yoga classes in Jaipur.
Is there a refund if I do not continue?
No. We do not have a refund policy, and we prefer you know that before registering.
